1. Toxicity: The above solvents have great toxicity except F-113 and 1,1, 1-trichloroethane. Contact through skin, breath or accidental ingestion will cause liver, kidney and blood poisoning, dizziness and vomiting in mild cases, shock and even death in severe cases. Some solvents also produce extremely toxic phosgene under sunlight, which has a carcinogenic effect. Therefore, there are strict requirements for the use of places and personnel protection, and the maximum allowable concentration in the air is 10-500ppm.
2, corrosion: because most of the halogenated hydrocarbon cleaning agent contains chlorine atoms, under certain conditions will decompose to produce hydrochloric acid, corrosion of equipment and metal workpieces. Most chlorinated hydrocarbon solvents will dissolve, swell, deform or embrittle plastic rubber parts, limiting their cleaning range.
3, evaporation loss: chlorinated hydrocarbon cleaning agent boiling point is low (generally in 40~80 ℃), are volatile liquids, in the transport, storage and use of the process of about 40% of the cleaning agent lost due to evaporation.
4, pollution of the environment: chlorinated hydrocarbon solvents are not natural degradation, after the discharge of air, water and soil have more serious pollution.
5. Destruction of the ozone layer: The volatile gases of F-113, carbon tetrachloride and 1,1, 1-trichloroethane stay in the atmosphere and rise with the airflow. They are decomposed by ultraviolet rays in the stratosphere to produce chlorine atoms. As a catalyst, chlorine atoms can cause long-term reactions that damage the ozone layer, reduce the role of the ozone layer in blocking ultraviolet rays, and cause harm to people, humans, and plants on the earth.
